For those who may be interested, the Pittsburgh NWS has released the attached graphic showing expected snowfall for Morgantown and vicinity.
The graphic shows an expected 4 to 6 inches of snow by 1000 EST Saturday for Morgantown and 8 to 12 inches of snow for eastern Monongalia, Preston and Tucker counties. The certainty of this amount of snowfall by the NWS is near 100%.
Per the National Weather Service this is a sufficient snowfall amount to warrant activation of the SKYWARN Net., so please monitor the W8MWA two meter and repeater on 145.430 MHz (-600 offset, PL 103.5) especially on Friday and Saturday.
The NWS will want our local snowfall measurements as they don’t get many reports from our area. So please help out. All you need is a ruler to stick in the snow. You don’t need to own a fancy snow gauge!
If there are any significant updates I will pass them on to you.

Jeff, WB1AAL
