The Pittsburgh National Weather Service has released an updated snow total graphic. With the NWS’s permission I am attaching the graphic to this email.
Please review the graphic and note the following two items:
1. The projected snow totals for Monongalia and Marion Counties has been upgraded to 3 to 4 inches through 7 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
2. Due to the banding nature of the snow storm, there is a lower degree in confidence in these snow totals. They could be lower or they could go higher. We will just have to wait and see.
Should the accumulated totals in Marion Greene or Monongalia Counties reach or exceed three inches of snow, we will activate the SKYWARN Net on the W8MWA two-meter repeater. This will enable us to receive your snow reports and forward them to the NWS.
For those in Preston and Tucker Counties , please feel free to transmit your snow measurements even if the SKYWARN Net has not been activated. I will try to monitor the repeater especially on Tuesday and take your reports.
