But there is the ARRL VHF contest the weekend of Jan. 20, and FM09 could always use more representation. So while you're doing that antenna work don't forget to put up your 40 element yagi and your 1.8 m dish.

Plus, this week we should celebrate the no-contest holiday, since there is no major HF contest until February 10-11, the CQ WW RTTY WPX contest, which is still not really a big deal for most of us.  This is the time to put up antennas, since it is a likely time of year for snow, rain, and wind storms, and any antenna erected during these conditions is guaranteed to stay up forever. Also, you know that your ham friends are not going to be having weekend outdoor barbeque parties.

I just thought of something.  With all the difficulties I have had with antennas and hardware this year, and I am sure many of you have gone through similar years, perhaps a better name for our hobby would be hamn radio.

My amp is working again, so I will go back to QRO 73 with
