I intend to activate the
Fairfax Stone State Park this
Friday, August 25, 2023 between 4:00pm and 10:00 pm.
The intention here is two fold:
1) provide an opportunity for hams who have not activated a park to observe and participate
2) provide a space for fellowship
I will have an Eagle One multi-band vertical and a half-wave end fed erected for use, along with one or two HF rigs and one or two tuners, and a couple 12V batteries with Anderson power poles.
There are no facilities at that park. I have garnered permission from the park superintendent to place our travel trailer on site for the duration. This will provide running water, restroom, wash station and propane grill to warm food. We will have picnic-type items available (hotdogs / sauce, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, bottled water).
Anyone is welcome, I only ask that if you plan to attend, please reply to this email by Thursday so I can estimate the amount of food needed.
