Hey everyone!

Received this today and am passing it on for anyone that can be around to chat with these aspiring hams over the next few Thursdays.  I’ll be verifying the repeater frequency with David and sending him more information about the club.

Good morning,

My name is Daniel Kimble and I am an out-of-practice ham radio operator with a Tech license that I have renewed twice. As a teenager, I was somewhat active on the 2-meter band. I still have 2 very old Realistic HTX-202 handhelds, but it has been a while since I have done anything other than listen. I have been meeting with a few students at Morgantown High School and preparing them for their Technician license exam.  The school provided us with some study books, and we are having weekly study sessions. We would love to have some contact with members of the community that are active ham radio operators. I know about your meetings, and I actually attended a few many years ago while going to school at WVU. Hopefully, some of us will be future members of the MWA.  We will be meeting today from 10:20 to 11:05 and Thursday of the next few weeks at the same time. I'm not sure I can reach anyone on my 2-meter radios, but it would be nice for the students to be able to have contact with our class. We would also welcome anyone that would like to come in person to help us out. There are about six students that are working hard to get their license. We hope that we can get them licensed and start a growing club of ham operators at MHS.

Sincerely,

Daniel Kimble
