Let me start by quoting Jeff Craven of the NWS - Pittsburgh. He said: "*Morning
everyone. Quite a storm!*"
It was indeed! And thanks again to everyone who participated in the Skywarn
Net yesterday. Again, we had a record number (28) of individual check-ins
yesterday on our net. Well done!
*We received additional snowfall overnight, so we activated the **North
Central West Virginia Skywarn Net** in Standby Mode **this morning **at
07:00 EST. It is running on the W8MWA two meter repeater (145.430 MHz, PL
103.5, -600 offset.) **We are taking your updated or new snowfall and
weather and road condition reports at the following times this morning:*
*08:00 EST*
*09:00 EST*
*10:00 EST *
After the 10:00 EST reports we will likely secure the net.
As for our weather today, the cold temperatures are expected to remain over
North Central West Virginia through at least the beginning of February.
An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for Monday night into Tuesday
morning. Wind chills are expected to reach -25 degrees in some spots. In
addition, snow squalls will be possible Monday afternoon.
