W8MWA two meter repeater. Flooding is widespread in Mon and Marion
Counties. The NWS is hearing of flooding reports throughout North Central
WV. **Please check into the Net if you are able. *

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Preston County in northeastern West Virginia...
Northwestern Tucker County in northeastern West Virginia...
Southeastern Marion County in northern West Virginia...
Eastern Monongalia County in northern West Virginia...

* Until 1045 PM EDT.

* At 739 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways,
streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Morgantown, Kingwood, Rowlesburg, Newburg, Brookhaven, Reedsville,
Masontown, Albright, Tunnelton, Brandonville, Hannahsville, Bruceton Mills,
Gladesville, Browns Chapel, Fellowsville, Israel, Valley Point, Laurel Run,
Cheat Lake and Clifton Mills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths
occur in vehicles.
