Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
324 PM EDT Sun Jun 8 2025

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Marion County in northern West Virginia...
  South Central Monongalia County in northern West Virginia...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 324 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain
across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
  has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and
low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Fairmont, Pleasant Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Monongah,
  Rivesville, Colfax, Baxter, Bentons Ferry, Everettville and White
  Hall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding via the North Central WV Skywarn Net to
local emergency services and law enforcement.
