URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

Marion-Monongalia-Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern

Including the cities of Bruceton Mills, Coopers Rock, Morgantown, Fairmont,
and Kingwood
1107 AM EST Mon Jan 6 2025

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches.
Winds could gust up to 40 mph at times through tonight.

* WHERE...Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and
Northwestern Preston, and Wetzel Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become slick and hazardous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in
visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you,
and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or
acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns.
Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Eastern Preston, Eastern Tucker, and Western Tucker Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to
falling and blowing snow.
