[W8MWA] Alert: Weather Hazards Today

*Note*:  Sunday is forecast to be a very active weather day. Due to the
hazards noted below by the NWS Pittsburgh, the North Central West Virginia
Skywarn Net will be activated this morning.

We will be taking flooring reports, road condition reports and, later this
afternoon snowfall reports.

The NC WV Skywarn Net will initially activate in *Standby* Mode at 07:00
EST. Please monitor the W8MWA two-meter repeater today and participate as
much as possible.

>From the NWS Pittsburg:

Another mixed bag of weather hazards is expected today.

1) Flooding concerns linger into the morning.

2) Wind concerns along and behind a cold front today and tonight.

3) Flash freeze potential behind the cold front this afternoon.

4) Snow expected this afternoon through the overnight period.

5) Wind and snow conditions make for blowing snow, and even blizzard
conditions for the high terrain of West Virginia this afternoon through
early Monday.

As for winds, the high wind watch has been replaced with a wind advisory.
See below for the chances of gusts exceeding 45mph for the ridges. Chances
maximize at 50% to 70% for the highest terrain from this afternoon through
overnight. Eastern Tucker has the best chance at high-wind warning
criteria, but the blizzard warning remains all-encompassing for snow and
wind hazards.
