Good morning and Happy Easter!
We are still without power in much of Morgantown and Mon County as of 05:45
EDT. Mon Power does not advise any ETA for restoration.
The NWS Pittsburgh reports:
"The highest gust during the etorm was 61 mph recorded at the Morgantown
airport. There was a weather station close to downtown Morgantown that
recorded 57 mph."
There were 24 stations that checked into the North Central West Virginia
ARES Skywarn Net yesterday. Our reports were valuable both to the NWS, to
local first responders and to the media.
We received a number of very positive comments about the value of amateur
radio to the community from KDKA and several other media outlets that were
monitoring our reports. Thank you for a job well done!
A little later this morning (probably around 07:00 EDT) I am going to
activate the North Central West Virginia Skywarn Net on W8MWA to receive
any additional storm damage reports that you may have. If you are able to
please check in whether or not you have reports.
Jeff, WB1AAL
