Here's the latest I have on some upcoming events.

1) Out of the darkness walk

The out of the dark walk for awareness of suicide and mental health 
awareness will be held October 19, 2024. The event will be at the Hazel 
Ruby Park on the riverfront downtown. We have been asked to provide 
communications for the event. Details are still not complete but here's 
what I have so far. Event registration at 10:30, ceremony at 11:30 with 
the walk after that. As of now I do not know the exact route. I've 
reached out for updates but have not heard back. I suspect it will take 
place on the rail trail but not for certain. I'll let you know as soon 
as I know more. We'll need people along the route for health and 
wellness observations as well as positions for the walkers progress. We 
should be on station around 11:30 and I expect the duration to be a 
couple hours.

2) Christmas Parade

Once again the local hams will be helping provide setup and logistics 
support for the Morgantown Christmas Parade. The event takes place 
Monday December 2 this year. We need to be there as usual by 4:30 with 
lineup starting at 5:00. We'll meet at the parking lot across from 
Wesley Church on North High Street. This year there may be an alternate 
setup area used but I don't have the details on where yet. It's still in 
the planning stage, but the planners aren't sure it would work. More on 
this as I get it. As usual I expect a pizza celebration after the parade 
will be in order.

For both events we can use anyone and everyone who is willing and able 
to help. More information to follow.
