Due to the importance of the heat wave message below from the NWS
Pittsburgh, I am posting it to all three local club lists.

Additionally, most of our area is in a Level 1 Risk for severe weather this
(Friday) afternoon and evening. Parts of Preston County are in a Level 2
risk of severe weather this afternoon and evening.

See the graphic below.

=========================================

Hot off the press: the newest heat wave risk forecast for Sunday-Thursday.

The combination of factors will make next week's potentially historic
heat-wave particularly dangerous:

1) The excessive heat itself, with highs in the upper 90s and potentially
100s on Monday and beyond with peak heating in roughly the 12pm-6pm
timeframe.

2) The lack of a cooldown at night. With dewpoints around 70, low
temperatures will only cool to around the low to mid-70s. This will offer
little reprieve and locations without AC will have a difficult time staying
cool.

3) The duration of the heat. Heat is likely to last through next weekend at
the earliest, with impacts as late as June 24th possible.

This is a particularly dangerous situation. Heat stress is forecast at
major levels Monday and Tuesday, and due to the duration factors, stress is
forecast to become extreme (the highest risk level) by Wednesday and
Thursday.
