Following is the latest update from the Pittsburgh NWS as of 0700
this morning:

73,

Jeff, WB1AAL

=======================================

Another potential "downslope" east wind event today, mainly after noon,
that prompted widespread wind advisory and high wind warning issuances.
Currently, it is hard to tell if damages/outages will be as extreme, but
the potential is certainly there.

Rain overspreads the area this afternoon and evening. Wind will remain
gusty into Saturday after the cold front passage, though maximum gusts on
Saturday will be lower than they will be on Friday afternoon. The greatest
high wind impact will be in the higher elevations although the wind can be
significant in all areas.

The first real cold outbreak of the season is on tap, with potential for a
multi-day streak of sub-freezing temperature that could last into next
weekend. KEY NOTE: look for an increase in river ice development on area
rivers/streams through this prolonged cold snap.
