It appears that most of the heavy rain from Debby went east of our area in
eastern West Virginia. Here is what the NWS Pittsburgh Meteorologist told
me this morning.

“Based on what we are seeing, Jeff, the chances of flooding in West
Virginia is going down; most of the small creeks and streams are only
starting to rise. Additionally, drier air is overspreading West Virginia.”

However, the NWS Charleston, WV has requested reports of rainfall totals in
our locations and any flooding reports. Therefore we will activate the Net
on the W8MWA two-meter repeater in Active Mode at 08:00 EDT (8 AM) this
morning. I expect the Net to be short so please join the Net and help out
if you can.

If you have a rain gauge please check it and report what you see. We will
also accept rainfall estimates. If you are aware of flooding or ponding on
roads, trees down, impassable roadways, etc. please report that on the Net.
We are especially interested in reports from Preston, Tucker and Randolph
Counties, but we will accept reports from all locations.

Again, NC WV SKYWARN will activate on the W8MWA repeater at 08:00 (8;AM)
this morning. (145.430 MHz, PL 103.5, -600 offset.)
