Great news!

For those who may be interested in trying out or using Wires-X (Yaesu System Fusion) there is a node in operation now in Morgantown. This node connects the W8MWA 70 cm repeater to the rest of the state, the country and, yes, even the world. (Digital DX anyone!)

The repeater frequency is 444.700 MHz. The repeater has a CTCSS of 103.5 but no PL tone is required for digital.

The node is available to all licensed radio amateurs regardless of club affliction (or none) who are in range of the repeater.

* This node is currently running in test mode. We will keep it operational as much as possible, but service is not guaranteed. It will be down at times.

* The repeater is currently range limited. But give it a try from your QTH or mobile.

* You must have C4FM capable transceiver and it must be in digital (DN) node.

* Currently the repeater node is on the West Virginia Room (“Talk Group” to you DMRers!) However, it is possible to change rooms remotely.

* Use it and enjoy it!

A bug words of thanks to Randy, N8OZY and Pete, WA8TGG who proposed this idea. And thanks to N8OZY for testing the node and helping to work out the bugs!

73,

Jeff Fritz, WB1AAL
