Radio Shack - still alive and well through an on-line presence and
franchise stores like the ones in Moorefield and Petersburg, WV - has a
Learn to Solder package on sale for $19, with free shipping.

For the price, this seems to be a good educational gateway for someone who
does not know how to solder or could use some additional experience.  When
finished, you have an electronic piano, which can also give you a better
understanding of how RC (Resistor Capacitor) audio oscillator circuits
work.  Plus you get to add to your collection of tools.
