Hello,

My name is Spencer Miles, KN4MYD. I found this facebook listed under
contact for a local ham club close to a summit I will be transmitting from.
I will be doing a doing a SOTA (Summits on the air) activation near you on
Sunday. I need to make at least four contacts via simplex per summit in
order to earn the allotted points. If you are unaware of what SOTA is, it
is a type of contesting that involves transmitting from the summit of a
mountain. Attached are the details for my activation.  Would you please
pass the following information on to your club especially if you have any
members who participate in SOTA.


Sorry for the short notice. Normally I send this email out earlier. I just
picked up a new HT capable of transmitting on 6 meters FM. I have put
together a backpack mounted vertical dipole for my antenna and want to test
it out before doing any serious mountain activations and that is what
tomorrow is. One can actually drive all the way to the top of this peak.
Anyhow, attached are the details. I tried posting in the group but it is
pending approval. If you could help spread the word I would appreciate it.
