MWA members,
Ryan has evidence that atomic clocks will not be defunded, only WWVH and
WWV, those frequency standards at 5, 10, 15, ...mHz. You know, those
stations that rival the Defense Department budget in yearly cost. I
have a suspicion that the ham radio lobby is not as strong as the atomic
clock or defense lobby.
I never thought that THIS would be the issue that caused me to get
political on the MWA reflector, and I will stop now.

Jan,
Though I don’t think defunding this service is a good decision, if
Wikipedia is to be believed:
"WWVB, the 60 kHz station colocated with WWV that provides time for
"atomic clocks," is not proposed for defunding."
