Taco Thursday is coming up again.
If Bill, WR8S shows up, be sure to congratulate him on causing the WVU
basketball team to defeat #1, Kansas, the first time WVU has beaten a #1
team for 33 years. We all know who was really responsible for this
win. He has to do it again next week when WVU faces #2, Oklahoma.
Right now, it looks like if your school can win the Big 12 conference,
it may well win the national championship (KS, OK, and WV are all in the
Big 12).
Jan, KX2A, has tested the waters about forming a subgroup to talk about
software defined radios, especially since the production of computer
dongles that have dropped such radios to the $100 level and even below.
We might want to discuss this. Now might also be a good time to mention
that K5P, on Palmyra Island, an ARRL country entity, is active on HF.
V25GB is also active on 18 mHz. in a casual, vacation-dxpedition mode
from Antigua-Barbuda even if you have this one, you may not have it on
18 mHz.
A topic for conversation for the techies is the current QST article on
Controlled Envelope Single Sideband (CESSB). Maybe Carl or Bill will
enlighten us.
And, of course, there is the continuing saga of the end-fed backyard
antenna.
If none of this interests you, perhaps you will spend the afternoon
drinking Margaritas with Mike, K8LG.
At any rate, I hope to see you at Los Mariachis at 12 noon.
73,
Jan, KX2A, the fool on the hill
