[W8MWA] Yaesu DR-1X Repeater

Hello Fellow MWA Members,

I am writing this email to let everyone know that the Club has applied for
and received special pricing on a Yaesu DR-1X System Fusion repeater.  This
repeater normally has an MSRP of $1,700.00 but due to the promotion Yaesu
currently has in place we are able to purchase it for $500.00.

In order to secure this pricing we had to agree to purchase the repeater
once it becomes available, it is currently backordered for approximately
30-60 days.

This will be a significant upgrade/addition to our existing aging repeater
infrastructure and will enable us to again operate a repeater in the 70cm
band, dabble with a new digital mode (C4FM), and (since this is a dual band
repeater) have a "warm" backup installed and ready to go should our current
2m repeater experience an issue.

I will let everyone know once the repeater is off of back order and has
officially been ordered.

Please come to the October 20 meeting ready to discuss this and other plans
for the future of our repeater system as I would like to make this a topic
