[?] *NEWS FLASH !!! QST Magazine Announces...*

*WR8S Team Places 5th in 2B-2 Op-Battery Class*

*209 QSO's*
*5 watts (QRP)*
*2115 points scored*

When interviewed by a QST beat-reporter, one Team WR8S radio operator
indicated there was snoring causing QRN throughout the early morning hours
but the team fought through the static. In addition to the QRN, it was
noted that one Team WR8S radio operator needs a new watch set to USA/WV
time zone for prompt arrival. Also noting, Friday is just like Saturday,
only different. Even though operating at low power there was still great
danger high in the wild, wonderful West Virginia mountains. Mean deer and
squirrels were menacing but the greatest danger was when Team WR8S were
frantically soldering the award winning Doublet Antenna only minutes before
the Field Day Contest commenced!!! One Team WR8S member noted that when
soldering, if you smell something like chicken burning on the grill it is
most likely that the Team WR8S Leader has welded his old friend's finger to
the lug on the balun. There was no concern about dehydration on that warm
weekend as Team WR8S had ample fluid(s) to consume. In June 2015 the team
vows to fight hard to wrest 4th Place from the unworthy ham universe. EOM.
