This just in. Due to the probability of rain the date for the Christmas parade has been changed from this Friday to Monday, December 8th. Hope you can make it and I think the change will be for the best for all participants.

NEWS FLASH - The Morgantown Christmas Parade originally scheduled for Friday, Dec 5 has been moved to Monday, December 8, 2014 with a parade start time of 6:30 PM.

MORGANTOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE DETAILS: 

Event: 2014 Annual Morgantown Jaycees Christmas Parade 

Date: Monday , December 8, 2014 

Parade start time: 6:30 PM – down High Street in Morgantown 




This year’s Parade will feature possibly 9 or 10 Middle and High School bands from Monongalia and Preston Counties, Servicemen and Servicewomen, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Church groups, Dance groups, and local area businesses. 




The Mon Wireless Association and Mon County Amateur Radio Club volunteers will be providing communications support. WEST TV will professionally record the entire Parade for re-broadcast on Comcast Channel 3 Christmas Day from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. 




Special feature is SANTA CLAUS, direct from the North Pole. The man in the big red suit will arrive atop a Fire truck and will be escorted by Santa’s Honor Band - The “Red & Blue” Morgantown High School Marching Band. 




The MPD Traffic Division will outline in the Dominion Post traffic restrictions and detours that begin at 5:30 PM this Friday.
