On last Monday night's net I mentioned about an upcoming episode of
the ABC-TV Sit-com "Last Man Standing" that was going to feature
Ham Radio significantly. I got the date wrong!

John Amodeo NN6JA, the producer of the show, was on Ham Nation tonight.
He announced that the show will air on March 15, at 8:00 PM EDT.

Locally, ABC-TV is WTAE Channel 4 from Pittsburgh, Comcast Channel 4 (or HD 804).
[I can't speak to DISH or Direct-TV.]

That's NEXT Friday, not this Friday.

Several of the cast members will be featured using Amateur Radio.

The main character, Mike Baxter, played by Tim Allen, is KA0XTT. That's Mike's call,
not Tim's. Tim is not licensed. However, John the Producer and several of the crew on
the show are. They have real ham equipment on the set and have operated there during
show's hiatus.

Much of the time the station at Mike's office could be seen in the background. In this
upcoming episode titled "The Fight", Mike's home station and his office station, as
well as a remote DX location will be featured.

KA0XTT is listed in QRZ.COM and is actually sanctioned by the FCC. The ARRL has
assisted in coordinating the call sign assignment as good public relations for the Amateur
Radio Service. You'll see actual DXCC and other certificates on the wall made out to
KA0XTT and many QSLs sent in by hams around the country.

The suffix XTT refers to "eX- Tim Taylor" which was the character Tim Allen played for
several years on "Home Improvement".

Cheers,
