Mike,
I am not sure what radio equipment you have for our station at the MedExpress location. I thought I would give a rundown of the gear I will be setting up..
First off, I have a folding table to set up our gear on. I am also going to bring a EZ-up canopy......... Just in case.....
I have what I like to call my "ARES Box" It has a IC2200 VHF and a KW D710 installed in it. I have the GPS puck so we can run APRS to track the chase vehicle. A 10ft tripod/mast to hold a Arrow J-pole dual band antenna. The mast has a side arm to hold a second NMO type antenna. This setup worked great at past triathlons I have worked. (Have always been at the turnaround on the running trail)
I also have a deep cycle marine battery (and a second backup battery) to power it all.
It may be overkill since we are in town, but I like to set it up simply for the practice. After all, we should be, as Hams, ready to deploy and set up emergency communications at a moment's notice.
Looking forward to meeting and working with you on Sunday..
See you there.
