A total solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8, 2024. During the event, all counties in Pennsylvania will be able to view the event (weather-permitting) as either a partial solar eclipse or a total solar eclipse. A total solar eclipse will be visible in Erie, Crawford, Mercer, Venango, and Warren Counties.

Several hundred thousand visitors are expected to visit the northwestern counties of the state; with over a million travelers potentially passing through the state to view the event and then to return to their homes. This influx of visitors and the resulting traffic could create a strain on transportation infrastructure, fuel delivery systems, communications networks, and local businesses including the retail and hotel industries.

If Any Amateur Radio Operators have information of significance to report regarding any strain on transportation infrastructure, fuel delivery systems, communications networks, etc.  Reports can be giving to KB3NIA via Winlink to KB3NIA, Via DMR on Brandmister Network Talkgroup 31420 KB3NIA will be monitoring this from 1200 till 1700 or HF Radio 7.234mhz.  KB3NIA will be monitoring 7.234mhz for reports at the top and bottom of the hours.  Please only report if you have information of significance.
