I am sending this request out on behalf of Travis Best, W3TMB, the Communications Coordinator for the Eastern States 100 and also the PEMA State ACS Officer. I am sure that many of you know him.
Last weekend was the World's End Ultra Marathon and it was a fun time for all of us who helped with communications. I think that most of us who were there will be heading to the Eastern States 100 too. The problem is the Eastern States 100 is a lot bigger and more communications help is needed.
What is the Eastern States 100? Simple answer is that it is a 100 mile foot race that starts at 5:00AM on Saturday and ends at 5:00PM on Sunday. 100 miles in 36 hours. Where is it located? Here ->https://www.google.com/maps/dir//41.3640779,-77.3564623/@41.3534569,-77.3560161,13z
What's it close to? Pretty much nothing. Well, it is 40 minutes or so west of Williamsport, PA.
What will you need to do? That is the easy part for us. Keep track of the bib numbers of the participants and radio them to Race Control.
What will you need? Right now that is an open question because W3TMB is still examining the route to see what works and what he needs to add as far as infrastructure. But it is safe to say that a good 2 meter rig, batteries to run it for the time you'll be there, and a good antenna.

You can wander around the web site to see what it is all about.
You won't be expected to work the entire 36 hours. There are 17 Aid Stations that need coverage. The time at some aid stations are longer than others. Here is the signup list. If you can help please pick a spot and sign up. You'll be contacted by Travis with details as time gets closer to the event.

Just a quick plea here: This is Travis' first attempt at the Eastern States 100. Amateur Radio is essential to them having this race. Last year it was canceled because of no amateur radio support. Lets not let that happen this time around. If you can help then please step up.
BTW, I am already signed up.
Please pass this on to anyone who might be interested in helping.
