John, I am interested in how you came to this conclusion. I have a few
questions to help solve this problem. What type of service equipment did
you use? Spectrum analyzer? Oscilloscope? Brand and model number? Watt
meter for the appropriate frequency? Deviation Meter? When the last
calibration date was of such equipment. Did you check the voltage at the
source and the radio? Any difference in such voltage in the line? What was
the power output of the radio? Power reflected? Any wiring in the cabinet
come loose? Does the equipment look like it was tampered with in any way?
Some information would help. If the repeater is being heard high, what was
lower frequency cutoff? Did you scope a center of frequency? What was the
frequency error? If you have an answer for any of this, please let the RAE
know ASAP.
