The Wings Over Pittsburgh Open House and airshow will be held on May 13-14
at the USAF Reserve base in Moon Twp. near the Pittsburgh International
Airport. Highlights will include the USAF Thunderbirds and an F-22
demonstration.

The show organizers have requested help from amateur radio operators to
perform public service communications for the event. At the moment, we need
at least 12 hams each day of the show. We anticipate all communications
will be on VHF/UHF, so your HTs, spare batteries, and a decent antenna should
be all the gear you need. If you would like to participate, please email
me the following information:

    *   Name
    *   Home address
    *   Phone Number
    * Date of Birth ( required by show organizers for vetting volunteers)

    * Which days you will be available

IMPORTANT: Do not wait until the last moment to volunteer! As all
volunteers will be vetted by the show organizers, if you volunteer too close to
the show, there will not be enough time to be vetted and we will not be able
to use you even if we are short handed. I do not know how close to the
airshow we’ll be able to accept volunteers, so the sooner you email me the
better.

Special note to ARES members in Allegheny County: The airshow conflicts
with the Race for the Cure on Sunday May 14. That event is as important to
us as the airshow. Therefore, we will not accept any volunteers from
Allegheny County for the airshow on Sunday until all slots for the Race for the
Cure have been filled.
