***********Join Erie County Erie County RACES TODAY!**********
Many hams ask why do I need to join RACES.
Reason 1: We wear 2 HATS!!! An ARES event may turn in to a RACES
event at a moment’s notice. Thus, in order to participate in the
RACES event you would need to be registered with RACES.
Reason 2: Access- In many situations where access maybe restricted,
you will need a valid RACES ID in order to provide emergency
communications.
Reason 3: Insurance Reasons- If you are a registered RACES member, you
would be covered while performing RACES duties.
Reason 4: Updated Files: Many of the RACES registration files are
from the 1990’s and early 2000’s. Contact information and your
station’s capabilities may have changed.
Reason 5: Updated Identification Badge: If your RACES ID mentions:
ANY INFORMATION ABOUT: NICK SLEPTZOFF OR THE EMA OFFICE BEING LOCATED
AT 17TH and PEACH. IT IS INVALID!
If you have not joined Erie County RACES, it is a real easy process.
Please e-mail Dave WX3E at wx3e at arrl.net for an application.
