Do you have a D-STAR rig? Have you checked into the WPA Section D-STAR
net in the past only to discover that it was largely populated by out
of state D-STAR ops trying to check in and become frustrated by having
to wait? We've made a few changes and suspect you'll appreciate how
smoothly the net flows now.
The new WPA Section D-STAR Net format now calls for WPA Section
Stations first. Only after the WPA stations have checked in do we
begin to accept check-ins from operators outside of the WPA Section.
The result is a streamlined process for those that of us that reside in
the WPA Section. No more waiting. With your "quick-Key" (a momentary
key-up of your rig to transmit your call sign to the net - no voice
transmission is necessary) the net control station will recognize your
check-in and put you on the list for a round of comments.
So if it's been a while since you participated in the WPA Section
D-STAR Net on reflector REF063 Module C, please consider giving it
another try. The net starts at 9 PM every Monday night. Most WPA
Section D-STAR repeaters are linked to the reflector to allow
participation in the net as well as general conversation among fellow
WPA Section D-STAR ops.
