There are numerous ways to get your Tech license. One way is to buy Gordon West's Tech licensing book. Beware that the questions changed in July, so you want the newest edition. It has a CD insert that talks about ham radio. I suggest after you study the book and you take the tests on QRZ.COM every day if possible. No matter which method you choose taking the QRZ.COM tests is highly recommended since they are the actual questions and answers.
Another way to do it, is to attend a class. If you are only interested in passing the test and learning about ham radio afterwards, some clubs offer a ham in a day class. The last one was done in Corry I think by John Lis.
The Warren club also had a very successful one last spring.
The other way is to have a class that meets once or twice a week and go through the different sections in details and go over the questions for each section. That take about 10 sessions to cover all the material. Craig Hill K3PLV or myself both teach classes in Erie.
When the group is ready they can attend a VE session on the third Saturday of the month at the WWA club station. Arrangements can also be made for VEs to travel to Corry to administer the test.
However I am sure that if you contact the Corry Club they will be glad to help you.

We have a group of middle school and high school students that are interested in licensing. What is the recommended form of preparation these days?

Best regards,
Scott W3TX
