Fieldday is now history. The only drawback was the heat. I think it was
the hottest day of the year so far. Our newest ham, Richard Quinn KB3ZVH
ran the 10 meter radio and did a fine job. Doug Sweet AD4UL was out in the
tent running 20 meters. Doug spend the whole 24 hours at the fieldday site.
Doug also provided wonderful hot dogs, chips and macaroni salad. There was
an opening on Six meters Sunday into Florida and I got to work six for the
very first time. I ran a discone Army antenna that I purchased at the
Wattsburg hamfest. W3AUH ran 40 meter code on the old Ten-tec radio. That
radio has got to go. It interfered with every one. Oh well we had some
other people come in the evening to keep Doug company. Thank you Rick
WA3MKT for keeping the generator running, fixing the 940 radio, and fixing
the 80 meter dipole. Thank you Joe KA3CPV for making the coffee (wonderful
java!) and helping out in a thousand different ways. I had a good time!
