I was asked today to provide communications for this search. We will need
some mobile operators and some "hikers" with hand-held radios.

Please contact me at 814-881-8676 or _wx3e at arrl.net_ (mailto:wx3e at arrl.net)
if you are available. I will be attending a planning meeting tomorrow
and have additional information.

=======================================================

A search for Dan Wolboldt is tentatively planned for April 28, weather and
river levels permitting.

The land phase of the search will start at 9 AM (weather permitting), at
the Dining Hall pavilion at Camp Olmsted near Scandia PA. Those who wish to
join in this phase should check in with Ranger Marty Yucha.

The water phase of the search will be by canoe and other watercraft in
three sections; Conewango Creek, Allegheny River from the Conewango to Betts
Park, and Starbrick Boat Launch to Buckaloons.

All volunteer searchers MUST be at least 18 years of age and this is
non-negotiable. Anyone under 18 may still help by taking canoes off of trailers,
putting them back on, etc. Or help at camp by providing water, etc.

All watercraft must have whistles, and PFD's (one for each person).

We won't know if the search is a "go" until we have some cooperation from
mother nature and the river level lowers. More information will be
forthcoming.

We are hoping to get some Amateur Radio Operators to help out with
communications. Possibly a few that could walk with the hikers in Scandia and some
for along the river just in case we needed to contact search groups or to
pass along info.
