Radio Association of Erie General Membership Meeting Minutes
November 3, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President AD4UL via SKYPE.

Board Members Present: KE3V, K3PLV, KB3NAT, N3DBC

Not Present: WB3DOM and N3JOC

AD4UL suspended all business for a video tour of the MFJ Facilities.

The meeting reconvened at 7:25 pm.

Visitors: None

New Hams: None

Silent Keys: A moment a silence was taken in memory of WW3JC and WA3USH.

Secretary’s Report: A motion was made by KB3NAT and Seconded KA6VPZ to accept the minutes that were distributed via e-mail.

Treasurer’s Report: AD4UL reported that KB3GYR has resigned as treasurer effective October 21, 2011. N3NKV is handling the role for the interim until a new treasurer is found. N3NKV provided the membership with an update on the club’s finance up until October 20th. N3NKV sent AD4UL a copy of the treasurer’s report via e-mail.

Board of Director’s Report: AD4UL reported that the board met on October 27th. With only 4 board members present, a quorum could not take place. AD4UL mentioned that there were some issues that need to be addressed in regard to elections next year. He mentioned that the bylaw need to be followed more thoroughly.  AD4UL mentioned that the board members responsibilities will follow what is spelled out in the bylaws. 

President’s Report: AD4UL reported that N3NKV has decided to pulled his nomination for secretary for 2012 and no longer will be QUARAE editor effective November 3, 2011. KB3VJZ has decided to pull her nomination for treasurer for 2012. George N3SRF volunteered to take the position of treasurer for 2012. AD4UL mentioned that a Secretary and Newsletter Editor are still needed. KB3NAT mentioned that another option is that someone can take the minutes on a meeting by meeting basis.

Website: N3NKV reported that all is well.

Repeater: N3NKV that messages about the 10 meter nets have been added to the repeater controller. There presently is an issue with the repeater losing its time and date. An UPS has been added to the repeater power supply. The next option is a firmware upgrade or maybe the purchase of a $49 module from Arcom to solve the problem.

Clubhouse: KB3JZM reported that the metal rod for the frames for the shutters has been purchased. He is not sure if the project will get the project done this winter. KB3NAT reported that he will be going out to the clubhouse to get the Kenwood TS-2000.

Contesting- AD4UL reported that The RAE won the 2011 Maryland/DC QSO Party Non-Maryland Club Category

New/Old Business:
AD4UL mentioned that he is looking for net controls for the 2 meter Rag Chew Net at 9 pm on 61 and 82.

Christmas Party: N3NKV reported the Christmas party will take place on Saturday January 14, 2012 at 5:00 PM at Nunzi’s Place located at 2330 E. 38th ST. The menu for the buffet will consist of: Fried Chicken, Roast Beef, Sausage, Peppers, Onions, Eggplant Parmesan, Pasta Primavera, Soup, Potato, Rigatoni, Meatballs, Steamed Veggies, Fried Zucchini, Assorted Salads, Anitipasto, Cheese/ Veggie Tray, Pizza, Rolls, Garlic Toast, Coffee/Tea, Dessert. The cost is $15.00 per person. The program will be a slide show by N3MLX about his cross-country circle tour.

Membership Dues: N3NKV announced that 2012 dues are now payable and he will be available after the meeting to collect them. In a couple of weeks, the annual mailer will be going out.

Nationwide EAS Drill: KB3NAT went over details about the Nationwide EAS Drill scheduled for November 9th at 2 pm for 3 minutes.
