Sorry for the late posting. I've been distracted by life's events and shifting priorities. Getting back to firmer ground now.
The September event date had to be moved one week because of the MS Bike Event tomorrow. Our POTA Event #4 will now be September 16 (9 am to 1 pm). POTA Event #5 is still on the calendar for October 7 (9 am to 1 pm).
We will meet at Washington Crossing State Park, however, our position will move to down by the Delaware River, still on the NJ side. Just before the Delaware River bridge (Washington Crossing Bridge) and a few feet after you cross the Delaware-Raritan Canal, there is a small park road (aptly called River Drive on Google maps) on the right side. A few hundred feet down the road, on the right, proceed into the parking lot, then make a sharp left turn, and proceed into a second parking lot. On the left side, there is parking for a small grassy and shady area. There is a statue of a man painting on an easel. A bathroom is nearby (within 200') of this spot.
If there is too much activity in this lot on Saturday morning (cyclers biking, exercise groups), there is another small park just down the River Drive. Exit the parking lot and turn right to continue north along the river. There is another smaller parking lot and plenty of trees for shade. Bring your own snacks, beverage, table and chair.
The special attraction for this location in WCSP is it is the cross section overlap for 3 POTA parks (a 3-fer). Register your spot on the POTA network with the first park K-1634, Washington Crossing State Park. Also note in your logbook the two additional parks you are within: K-1634 The Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park and K-0684 The Lower Delaware Scenic River State Park. If you get a P2P QSO here, be sure to convey the 3 parks information to the operator working you.
----- STOP Reading Here ------ Proceed only if you are learning HAMRS and Creating Duplicate Logbooks ------------
I use HAMRS to log my POTA activations. There are other logging packages available, however, it is important to log your Activations and contacts into the POTA database to get your awards and also provide credits to the operators working your POTA station. Youtube tutorials for POTA QSO loggings are available.
Log the qsos into HAMRS normally for the first park, K-1634, to populate the log file with your contacts.
When completed, create the .adi file for uploading to POTA. (instructions not covered herein.)
Then go back to the HAMRS file just created, click on the "gear" icon and see the "Duplicate" icon. Click on Duplicate to bring up the window for "Duplicate Logbook." Modify the duplicate file name to include your second park number, K-1613. In the "My Park" box, enter the second park number, K-1613. Hit the "Save button and you will see the second logbook file in your HAMRS Logbooks list. Create the .adi file and have it ready to upload to POTA.
Go back to the HAMRS logbook list, click again on the "gear" icon for either the first or the second file. Create a "Duplicate" file, change the file name and "My Park" info with your third park number, K-0634. Create the .adi file for this third park and upload it to POTA. Repeat this procedure for the third park logbook and upload to POTA!
