As part of installing our new 220 repeater at Cherryville we need to assemble a work party to hand the (hopefully
temporary) 220 antenna.
This antenna will eventually be used for telemetry but, initially, it will serve the new 224.600 repeater until we
manage to afford a climber for the permanent antennas on the tower.
The process involves:
- lowering a mast and removing an unused weather station.
- Replacing the weather station with our G7-220 antenna,
- Connecting the hard line to the antenna and securing it to the mast,
- Secure the hard line around the side and rear fascia to the old feed line penetration on the opposite end of the
building being ESPECIALLY CAREFUL TO NOT EXCEED THE 5" MINIMUM BEND RADIUS. IF IT KINKS IT IS RUINED WITH NO POSIBILITY
OF "REPAIR" AND WE WILL NEED TO PROCURE A NEW 100' LENGTH!
So . . . Looking for someone to organize and lead a team to do this in a SAFE manner. I'll provide a complete briefing
at the site.
