Hello group
I would like to let you know how the hamfest went.
It was a success!
Most people were happy to see Covid in the rear view mirror. Our concern was the weather.
As it turned out, we made about the same amount of money this year that we did at our last hamfest 3 years ago. That is a win! If the weather had been nice there would have been much more attendance.
So many people, buyers and sellers, were happy to be out at a ham radio event. Socialize with old friends. Find the little bits and pieces they needed for projects.
I would like to thank Tony, W2HWW for bringing the experience and catching important details.
The kitchen was a money maker thanks to Wes, K2TZ who solicited, and got, a substantial food donation from Shop Rite. That made all the food sales pure profit. Bob, K2MIF, Dave, KC2LMW and his wife for working the kitchen. All the folks who helped moving equipment, setting up, running the show, then breaking it down and leaving the hall like we found it.
Special thanks to Daryl Hastings, the wife of Jim, WA2BZF, who let us keep half of the money we made selling Jim’s equipment. I remember many nice QSOs with Jim on our 375 machine, he was an interesting and talented guy. Thank you George, AC2NX, for taking the initiative to sort out his gear, keep it for years, and bring it to sell. I talked to Daryl, she is doing well and trying to keep the blueberry farm. She was quite happy and surprised to get a call from me, this will help keep Jim’s blueberrys growing!
So again, a hearty thanks for the people who helped and to the people who attended.
