Here is the info for the North NJ Section Net and information for the annual 5 watt challenge for UHF and 6-Meter.
North NJ ARES Section net, March 8th at 2000 hrs local.WS2Q repeater 146.895 or WS2Q-L Echolink.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce the date for the annual 5 Watt challenge, Saturday, April 9th between Noon and 1800 hrs.
Rules: 5 watts Max power, HF or VHF, is encouraged, if QRO ( more than 5 watts) your log is submitted as a check log and not eligible for a certificate)
The use of the internet prohibited
The setting of schedules via radio is encouraged.
Exchange: Call, Six letter Maidenhead grid or Municipality and ARES appointment if any.
Suggested Frequencies: 146.58 simplex Primary, 50.130 SSB, secondary. You may schedule to use any frequency within your license privileges.
Score: Each contact is 1 point, contact with EC, DEC, ASEC, SEC or SM is 5 points
Bonuses:
Give yourself 10 points if using non-commercial power, includes battery, solar, generator and vehicle mobile.
Give yourself 10 points if you are associated with a served agency, i.e. volunteer public service, MARS, Red Cross, etc.
Certificates will be awarded to the top five scores.
Logs : List of contacts, include frequency and mode. Logs can be submitted as a Word .doc, screen shot, an email list or scan of a paper log.
The use of exterior antennas is encouraged! As an additional activity, plot your contacts on a map and share with us on facebook.
