For the W2CRA club, our next POTA event will be on the PA side of Washington Crossing. It is known as Washington Crossing Historical Park. The date is this coming Saturday, September 13, from 9 am till 11 am.

To get there from NJ, navigate to Washington Crossing State Park, NJ. If you use What3Words app for directions, the words are "organ.rapidly,renews".

If you navigate by roads... proceed down Route 546 to the very narrow, toll free, steel bridge crossing the Delaware River. Fold your side view mirrors in and proceed slowly across the bridge over the Delaware River. At the Stop sign after the crossing, open your mirrors up and turn right onto River Road. You will pass the Crossing Visitor Center on the right, then a pedestrian crosswalk.

Turn left into the large parking area, proceed about 200' and turn right at Y intersection, then a short distance, turn left into the parking area. There is a Restroom building to the immediate left of the parking lot. Our Club will set up under the trees, on the 4-5 picnic tables.

The POTA park number is US-6432, "Washington Crossing Historical Park". It is a single park activation.

If, after saying hi to club members, you want to activate a 2-fer, grab your coffee and bagel, radio station and head back out the park, turn right on River Road, then right again at the Stop sign onto General Washington Memorial Blvd for about 0.4 mile. Turn right into the marked WCHP small parking lot. The 2-fer is US-6432 and US-1346 "Delaware Canal State Park" There is a portajohn there, 2-3 picnic tables, and trees. The What3Words navigation words are "cashew.extends.cove"

If you want to activate a 3-fer spot on the PA side of the Delaware, follow What3Words "epidemics.tidal.optimal". It is north on River Road/Route 32 about 4.5 miles from the Crossing. Proceed just past the Thompson Neely House, turn right onto Aquetong Road. You will cross over the Delaware Canal State Park (US-1347). The General Sullivan portico is next to the Delaware River US-0684 "Lower Delaware National Wild and Scenic River" and still within the US-6432 WCHP (Upper Park) POTA park and the Delaware Canal State Park. No restroom facilities there, just trees! If the portico is in use, you can proceed around the area to the next portico, Colonel Glover portico. However, the roof is in bad shape! Plenty of tables.

I've done all three locations. Cellular service is good for those operators doing electronic logging. I've now migrated to iPad Air/HAM 2K PoLo logging. I have used HAMRS also, and plain paper logging.

All licensed operators are welcome to join. Even if you are Technician only.
HF Operators: Bring your portable stations, antennae, batteries. If you want to operate as a second operator on someone else's station, please don't hesitate to ask.

PLEASE don't leave until you have 10 contacts logged. If you fall a few qsos short of 10, call me and we can qso on handheld FM VHF/UHF bands 23 cm; 33 cm; 70 cm; 1.25 m, 2 m, 6 m.

FINALLY; please upload your qsos into your free POTA.app account to get credit and awards. I also upload my .adi file into my QRZ account.

POTA: Every day is a field day!
