[W2CRA] Site visit Saturday morning to evaluate alternate Field Day setup location

Amateur Radio Field Day this year will once again be held on the property of the Riegel Ridge Community Center in Holland Twp NJ.

Several years ago we inquired about using one of the back fields which seemed to be a better location for a Field Day setup because of elevation and easier accessibility, but as there were new residents occupying the adjoining property, we were denied permission to set up back there.

As it turns out, one of those new residents is himself a HAM and has indicated having no objections to CRA setting up and operating there. In consideration of this, HTPD Chief Gutsick has withdrawn his objection as well.

As it turns out, there are a total of seven fields back there, one of which, #7 in the attached drawing, just adjacent to the one we surveyed three years ago has a tree line better suited to stringing antennas.

We will be making another site visit there this Saturday, April 5 at 10:00am to evaluate that field. You are welcome to join us if you are interested in participating. We will be monitoring 147.375.
