[W2CRA] Field day report 2022 - success!

Hello Club,

I would like to make some comments on our Field Day this past weekend.

First I would like to thank all those who came out.  This is as much a
social event as it is a technical operation.  We did have a fantastic
barbeque on Saturday.

The burden of moving all of the camp equipment was much eased by George
(AC2NX) using his connection with the chief to provide a mule (Kawasaki,
not the four legged kind) to carry equipment.  We were able to take all of
the tables and tent parts in one trip!  Not to mention getting the big
generator and grill down to the site without schlepping it through the
woods.

Tony (W2HWW) provided his deep knowledge and experience in setting up,
knowing where everything goes.

Phil (K2RRX) provided helping hands, his awesome wire antennas ( the
"Philly specials"), and the firepower to launch the guy lines.

Don (KD2OTJ) provided drone pilot skills and was master chef, and Rob
(WA2RT) provided the protein (chicken and sausage).  By the way, Rob
provided the battleship worthy power distribution system that keeps the
voltage up all the way to the last outlet.

And to all of those that I missed - thanks!

Our set up is getting streamlined, the camp setup on Friday was done
quickly, a useful addition this year was a sun blocking tarp put in under
the top which really cut sun glare.

I can't wait for Kurt (KR2C) to crunch the numbers, I think our score was
high, even though the propagation was not too good this year. I got the old
Force 12 beam in shape this year and we did have a good amount of west
coast contacts, even on 15 meters.

And, we had some future hams show up, the event helped foster their
interest and we might be seeing them at our meetings and VE sessions!

To all those that couldn't make it, we miss you, and hope to see you at
meetings or the next event.
