  *September Monthly Meeting*

On Wednesday, October 14th 2020, the Delaware Valley Radio Association
monthly meeting HELD VIA VIRTUAL WEB CONFERENCE will feature a
presentation titled *“The World of Camera Drones” by Mike Rauch, K2VPX*

Did you know that there are more drone pilots in the United States than
amateur radio operators? What is a drone? What is a camera drone? What
can you do with a camera drone? Is the FAA worse than the FCC?

Mike will discuss these, as well as, other topics in the fascinating
area of UASs (Unmanned Aircraft System). After defining what a drone is,
Mike will speak more specifically about the features of consumer camera
drones and the most popular types being flown today.

Today’s drones are a technical marvel, and offer an interesting study
for the technically inquisitive. They are also fun to fly. You do not
want to miss this fascinating presentation.

Open to the public. Feel free to join for all or part of the meeting.

  * Combined Directors/Business Meeting from 7:00 to 7:30 PM
  * Featured presentation at 7:30 PM

Members will receive an email with instructions on how to join the Zoom
teleconference by October 12th.  Members of the public are invited to
request conference credentials by sending a message to
webmaster at w2zq.com <mailto:webmaster at w2zq.com>

The DVRA Tech Net will be adding an additional night to the schedule.
Starting in October, there will be a session held on the first Wednesday
of the month.  This additional session will be held at 9PM on the
440MHz, C4FM/Fusion, repeater.  The first session is scheduled for
Wednesday, October 7^th . The repeater output frequency is 442.650Mhz,
+5Mhz for transmit, in C4FM mode.

The Tech Net, started a year ago, has been held weekly at 9PM on Sunday
nights on the DVRA 2 meter repeater.  Weekly topics include a review of
upcoming DVRA activities, open discussion of participants’ ham radio
activity, a “featured” DX report and upcoming contest information.
Technical questions are answered by the group and a 5-10 minute “Tech
Talk” on a variety of ham radio related topics is presented.  As always
we are open to topics of discussion and Tech Talk presenters.   Contact
Chris at k2qfa.fn20 at gmail.com <mailto:k2qfa.fn20 at gmail.com>, with any
ideas you may have.

  *VHF New Ham Net*

Both new and experienced operators are welcome to join this monthly,
informal round-table discussion and Q&A led by net control station
operator Martin Crabtree, W3PR.
