All -
Even though the turnout for Field Day was a bit lower than previous
years, the tenacious effort of those who started many weeks/months in
advance in preparation and those who showed up for set up and tear down
mad this a very successful event. Thank you all. Some of the cool new
additions included:
* Fancy new generator and tent
* A new power grid that will survive a nuclear blast
* A cool donated trailer engineered into a tower/beam platform
* Continued improvement in the logging network
* New tent sides and top that were so white, they were blinding
* Many other contributions that I missed. I'm sure that you all
will remind me.
However, please know that some of the regular Field Day attendees were
missed. In some ways it seems less of a Field Day without you. How can
it be a Field Day without Bill's famous chili? We missed the American
Flag. And it still amazes me that we made any contacts at all without
Father Bill blessing our event. Jane, our reigning contact champion
from last year, not being able to attend and mentor a new champion.
Somehow we made it through. How? I do not know.
My plan is to compile the log data for a presentation at the next club
meeting. Then we will crown the new contact champion. By the way,
there was a hand written log in front of one of the stations that could
not be entered. it was missing the band, the mode, and the operator.
If you know the answer to this then please let me know.
If you operated from home and you plan to submit a log, then please
reference the club in this exact format:" Cherryvill Repeater
Association II"
I Hope to see you all at the next club meeting.
