EC-016 Course Offering
The Mid-Atlantic ARESMAT video conference offering “Public Service Emergency Management for Radio Amateurs” (EC-016) has been approved to start on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 7 pm eastern time.
Background & Format:
The EC-016 course would be interactive discussion-based learning utilizing secure Zoom video conference format. The content will be the same as designed for the online or classroom course using power point slides, group discussions, and Participant Guide. The primary instructor will lead the discussion based on course content with the participants, while other members of the Mid-Atlantic ARESMAT leadership team will be invited to assist with discussions and add related experiences.
Equipment and Access requirements:
·  Computer with internet capability to sign into the secure Zoom video conference.
·  PowerPoint slides containing discussion topics and sample questions/answers will be displayed on your computer screen.
·  Duplex audio is provided through computer permitting discussions and questioning.
·  If you have a camera on your computer, not required, others will be able to see you.
·  Duration for each session anticipated to be 1.5 hours each. Enabling completion of the course content in six sessions, if participants desire additional discussion time, it could be arranged.


Proposed Schedule:
Start on Thursday January 14th 2021 at 7:00 PM Eastern and continue one session per week, January 21, 28, February 4, 11, and 18. Typically, the day following a session the primary facilitator will send a copy of the power-point slides to each participant.
EC-016 Final Assessment - IMPORTANT


The EC-016 Final Assessment can only be administered online by ARRL headquarters’ after individuals present proof of completion for the FEMA Professional Development Series of courses. Details on these courses and submission process for documents at 

http://www.arrl.org/ec-016-application-for-final-assessment. 

It will be the responsibility of each participant to complete required prerequisite FEMA courses and submit them to the ARRL headquarter prior to taking the EC-016 final Assessment on-line. This process has been approved by ARRL staff and has been used successfully with prior video of the conference course.
Registration Required in Advance
Advanced registration is required for the classroom version. The advance registration ensures participants are provided: 1) EC-016 Participant Guide, 2) Suggested Readings for each session, and 3) Access to Video Conference that will be sent weekly.
There is a maximum of 25 - 30 to ensure questions and discussion.)
