[W2CRA] CRA: 375 Status

We are a guest at Roy Brown's property and occupy a room in his barn and a telephone pole just outside.

We have been there 20+ years without rent or lease.

If / when he sells the property or passes we are at the mercy of fate: in other words I haven't a clue. Perhaps the
Board should follow-up and see just where we stand.

Power: I doubt we can get power on someone else's property. Another Board investigation. In any event, it would be
another recurring bill - probably an minimum charge but . . .

Phone line: I was told a long time ago, the phone line pair from Roy's to 203 Cherryville was a "bad pair" and was
disconnected from Clinton at Roy's.

Once upon a time we were charged (in error) for a pair - someone else's pair. We also got scammed for "premium business
service" by an outfit down on the islands: voicemail, and other services. Tough to provide on a 2 wire line that runs a
whole 1.5 miles.

AFAIK, the county still pays for a line to the 911 switch. The last time I tested it worked.
Rumor has it that there was a 4th line that somehow connected via the 911 center to Mt. Kipp. Nothing there now.

When we move from the blockhouse to the backup building we will be on the same power as the county equipment there. We
are a guest of the county via the Emergency Management department.

If this is the case, then why not simply arrange for getting our own electrical service installed at the site? Would this be cost-prohibitive? How would we ensure power at any alternate site we may move to?

We need to come up with a plan to eliminate the dependency on on this site and I believe that this should be a top priority. We should revisit the plans we discussed several years ago now and set some actions. Unless I'm convinced differently, we should refocus our attention from remote site packages to this.
