Kurt & CRA Members,
The tech team and I have been working toward that end but slowly due to personal availability and resources.
We NEED to do Kingwood before the opportunity passes - the others can wait for the opportunity.
One issue that needs to be politically resolved is at-will access to the new building. Currently I have to contact John
Silliman in advance and arrange to get the keys; he's currently on vacation.
Second, we need to remove everything currently occupying space in the new cabinets and lay out for the future: we only
get ONE shot at this - there is no such thing as temporary.
We also must be SURE to keep the "ham" out of the look and feel; it needs to be MORE professional than the County stuff.
Follows an annotated version of the attached file:
- Cherryville Relocate to new cabinets
NOTE: Rack and Stack Plan needed PRIOR to equipping cabinets in standby building.
==Len looking into this. Need access to make precise measurements.
Can we consolidate to 1 cabinet or do we require 2?
==Unknown at this time
Needed soon - Who do?
==Len
List at end
- Install remote receiver package (depends on rack & stack of new cabinets)
In standby building
==The new building, in the new cabinets
Documented separately
==Doing
Currently waiting to be wired
==By Bill
Need amplified CATV splitter with custom cables (FM to Mini UHF M)
==Not ordered
Need filter (bandpass cavity) added to County UHF receive antenna.
==Must be coordinated with John Silliman
Local 2M Rx uses tap off of County high band combiner stack
==Needs to be tested and approved otherwise SOL: no link Rx antenna.
==NOTE: We will need ~120' of 1/2 " superflex for jumpers from the trapeze to our cabinets. Connectors also.
- Move ALL equipment out of blockhouse; stored, standby and active
NOTE: EVERYTHING MUST GO!
NEED to start selling off surplus stuff before County evicts us.
==In progress. Slightly over 1/2 way done.
==Being stored in Len's barn.
==We need to label stuff we're going to keep.
- New 147.375
Exciters on 4U shelf: CDM750 main, CM/Radius backup
==Partial
Amplifiers: Henry main, GE (one in use) or Motorola backup
==partial
Backup switching - ONE switch dummy proof moves audio/ptt AND amplifier out together to filters
==provides signal to controller
==Currently under construction
Filtering
300 W pass cavity
==perhaps
100W notch on 975
==Probably
top of cabinet
==need mounting
A MAJOR project: Documented separately
- 444.85 Cherryville (R/S dependent)
Configure MTR2000 and Duplexer and test
==Programming, tuning and testing required. Proper test equipment unavailable
Install in cabinet at standby transmitter building
==Depends on rack and stack
==Measurements needed
Full test req. incl desense
==Proper test equipment unavailable
Recover SComm 7k from blockhouse
So, in order:
Clean out cabinets,
Accurately measure cabinets
Lay out and mark cabinets
Mounts for filters/cavities
Install 444.85
Wire remote Rx rack
Test 420 MHz filter with County
Install Link Rx, Voter, Controller(s), Line interface, 12V power external
Plan and install in-cabinet 12V and circuit breaker / distribution system
Install exciters, interstage filters (need 2nd one), Amplifiers, AB switch, Final filters
????????
So - Who can and is willing to follow instructions as provided WITHOUT disagreement or second-guessing or
re-engineering?

In the meantime there is 444.85, 147.015, 224.120 and 446.475.Bill - WB1GOT-- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast
