==========================================================================================================================
Gentlemen:
My husband, Roger Long, used to belong to Cherryville years ago. He
passed away at the end of August. We had our deck redone, including the
2nd floor balcony, to which his antenna was attached. The deck guys
removed it and propped it up in a corner of the house. It recently blew
down but fortunately didn't damage anything. I need to get rid of it.
I sent pictures of it to a friend of mine, and below is what he says it is.
I don't know if it is of any use to anyone, I would appreciate it if
someone could take it away.
I won't be available until next week, but I can be reached on my cell
phone at 908-319-6049. I don't answer it unless I recognize the
number, so please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Thank you so much.
Roz Long

The one with the coil and plastic connecting 2 aluminum bent panels is
Bilal Isotron stealth antenna, it looks to be a 40 meter version
although the 80 and 30 meter versions look about the same. I'm judging
it's a 40 meter version in relation to the size of the dog. They retail
for about $110 and I have no idea who sells them except by mail from the
company. Amateur Electronic Supply had them in their catalog before they
went belly up a few years ago.
The other antenna, if you wanted to buy one of them now would be an
MFJ-1796 and they retail for around $350 or so. It probably wasn't MFJ
when Roger bought it and I cannot exactly remember what company made it.
MFJ buys up out of business or struggling companies like High Gain and
Cushcraft. However the older ones were much better made than the new
ones from MFJ. When I lived in NJ there was a ham store in a shopping
center on Easton Ave by John F. Kennedy Blvd. just North of New
Brunswick run by a fellow named Randy. WA2RMZ if I remember right. It's
where I met Derry Galbreath BTW. I used to stop in there on my way home
from work on the days I worked in the center in New Brunswick and bat
the breeze with other hams who came in. There was a "Chicken Delight"
store next door and I sometimes even had dinner in the ham store as
well. Randy had the antenna in the picture and I seem to remember they
were around $150 back then. Both antennas in your pictures are for
restricted space and since I had a lot of room both in Whitehouse and
later in Wyoming, I never had any experience with either type.
