[W2CRA] issues with Cherryville's 2m machine

Good morning:
When I turned on my 2m rig this morning shortly after 9:00am and tuned to Cherryville 147.375, I found it hung up, transmitting and modulated with only a hashy sounding 60Hz QRM and our Morse de WB2NQV/R ID, preceded by the letters TOT, occurring every two minutes or so. I checked the UHF link frequencies from our receive sites with my squelch open, but was unable to hear even the faintest indication of a carrier from any of them. (Not to say that one of them isn't transmitting, just that I couldn't receive any indication of it.)
.375 is still transmitting now at 9:47am. At the very least, we should probably shut it down until we can resolve the malfunction so that we don't toast our transmitter.

I can report similar issues trying to get into the Cherryville 2m machine. I observed on several occasions over the past week or so, as indicated by whether or not I could sustain a QSO and whether or not I heard the squelch tail and beep, not being able to key .375 reliably. From locations as diverse as Kingwood, Cherryville, and Rocky Hill, about 75% of my attempts failed to key the machine - suggesting that the problem most probably is not any one receive site, but rather something systemic.

Gents:
This is the second week I have not been able to check in to the net. I have an outdoor antenna on the roof about 35 feet up, and when I could not key the repeater I went out to the mobile and went up to 50 watts to no avail.
If everyone is wondering why the net participation is low its because some of us just cannot get into the machine. I know of at least one other that cannot hit the machine and as a result missed last weeks net.
I could hear Kurt, Net Control, almost full quieting on the input so I am stuped as to whats wrong.
Hope no one else had problems
