    *** FLARC to Activate Original Station in Historic Event ***
    THIS FRIDAY August 17, at 7:00 PM the Fair Lawn Amateur Radio Club's
    August program will recreate a part of club history by putting a
    replica of our original 1961 Novice station on the air. The
    equipment used will be a Heathkit AT-1 transmitter, paired with a
    Hallicrafters SX-99 receiver.  Both units were manufactured in the
    1950’s.

    Fred Belghaus W2AAB will be the club's August presenter and
    demonstrator.

    If you're not an "old-timer," actually seeing and listening to
    vintage equipment and understanding how it works is a valuable
    historical and learning experience. "Crystals", "dips", "plate,"
    “cathode,” and "separates" are all words from another time but come
    alive in the hands of loving restorer/operators.

    The program will be held at the club's facilities at the Fair Lawn
    Community Center,  10-10 20th Street  in Fair Lawn, NJ. (map:
    https://goo.gl/maps/r7o3RFXYKQt ) Or try to work the station on 40
    CW, around 7030-7050 kHz. The club expects to operate the station
    using the call W2AAB for up to two hours starting at 2300 UTC (7PM
    local). All contacts will receive a commemorative certificate! To
